Paolo Giusto is a group leader in the Department of Colloid Chemistry at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam, Germany, where he leads research on 2D covalent thin films for energy storage and conversion. His work focuses on carbon nitride and boron carbon nitride materials, chemical vapor deposition, surface and interface chemistry, sodium-ion batteries, photocatalysis, photoelectrochemistry, and selective ion separation. He completed his PhD at the same institute under Markus Antonietti and subsequently developed a research program spanning covalent semiconductor thin films, battery interphases, nitrogen conversion, lithium extraction, and light-driven chemical transformations.
