Michael Pio Basile is a PhD student in Applied Mathematics jointly affiliated with ONERA (French Aerospace Lab) and École Polytechnique in Paris. His research centers on the development of entropy-stable discontinuous Galerkin spectral element method (DGSEM) schemes for solving hyperbolic systems of equations common in aerospace engineering and computational fluid dynamics. He builds numerical methods that ensure physical admissibility and robustness in simulations of compressible flows. From 2021 to 2024, he earned his Master of Science in Applied and Engineering Mathematics at the Technical University of Munich, focusing on numerical analysis, high-performance computing, and finite element methods. His interdisciplinary work combines rigorous mathematical analysis with practical numerical implementation for aerospace and fluid mechanics applications.
