Giovanna Caruso is Assistant Professor at the Department of Aesthetics and Philosophy of Culture, Institute of Philosophy, University of Greifswald. She studied philosophy at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and Humboldt University of Berlin, and received her doctorate from the University of Koblenz-Landau in 2018 with a dissertation on art and life in Adorno, Benjamin and Heidegger. Since 2023, she has led the international research group “Structures of the Givenness”, focused on phenomenological approaches to the relations between objects, nature and human beings. Her research spans phenomenology, philosophy of culture, aesthetics, hermeneutics, philosophical anthropology, critical theory and new materialism.
