Francesco Gelati is Head of the Section for Digital Services and Internal Consulting at the University Archives of the University of Hamburg. His career began in Brussels at the State Archives of Belgium and pursued in Munich at the Archives of the Leibniz Institute for Contemporary History. He joined the University of Hamburg in 2021 and has since led initiatives and research projects on digital preservation and research data management. His work includes the development of Linked Data semantic artifacts for archival descriptions, management of large-scale e-records projects, and open-science workflows for the humanities. He also serves as Chair of the Scientific Committee for Transformations: A DARIAH Journal. His specialisms include FAIR data, digital workflows in archives, and the long-term preservation of digital objects.
