Professor Francesca di Mare is Full Professor and Head of the Chair of Thermal Turbomachines and Aeroengines at Ruhr University Bochum, where she also directs the Institute of Energy Technology. Her research focuses on numerical modeling and simulation of propulsion and energy conversion systems, including turbulent reacting flows, turbomachinery, aircraft engines, compressible flow, non-ideal working fluids, and physics-informed neural networks. Before joining Ruhr University Bochum, she worked at DLR in Cologne and held an associate professorship at TU Darmstadt. She coordinates the Horizon Europe MYTHOS project on flexible sustainable aviation fuel and hydrogen-capable propulsion concepts.
