Francesca Bottanelli is Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at Freie Universität Berlin, where she leads the Bottanelli Group on membrane trafficking. Her research combines gene editing, live cell imaging and super resolution microscopy to study intracellular transport, membrane organization and signalling processes. Before joining Freie Universität Berlin in 2018, she was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Cell Biology at Yale University School of Medicine. She holds a PhD in Biology from the University of Leeds and degrees in biotechnology from the University of Milan.
