Dr. Ing. Andrea Alberto Dutto is a research and teaching associate at the Department of Architectural Theory at RWTH Aachen University since April 2021. He earned his dual‑tutelle PhD from Politecnico di Torino and RWTH Aachen in 2017 on the topic “The Handbooks Legacy: The Paradigm of Distribution in Architectural Design.” His research explores the role of architectural handbooks, catalogs, and diagrams as tools of design knowledge and production. He served as postdoctoral researcher at Politecnico di Torino (2018–2020) and coordinated international projects such as The Architectures of Catalogs. He was Guest Editor for Candide Journal (2022). In 2023 he became Assistant Professor of Architecture at the University of Idaho. His interdisciplinary work navigates architectural history, design theory, and critical theory to examine how design media shape spatial imaginaries.
