Dr. Alice Spadea is a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics in Dresden. She earned her PhD in Pharmacy from the University of Manchester, where she focused on nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems and cancer cell biology. Currently she investigates the molecular mechanisms of lipid‑based nanoparticles (LNPs) and how they enable RNA release from endosomes, combining advanced microscopy, synthetic vesicle models, and lipid chemistry. Her work aims to improve RNA‑based therapeutics. She was awarded a Marie Skłodowska‑Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship in 2024. She collaborates across disciplines to develop mechanistic insights and translational potential in gene delivery technologies.
